Testing Sites and Hours

Community members experiencing symptoms or with potential COVID-19 exposure should call Health Services (students) or a health care provider (employees) to discuss testing. All asymptomatic tests take place on Brown's College Hill campus and at One Davol Square in the Jewelry District.

Symptomatic Testing

If you are experiencing symptoms or think you might have been exposed to COVID-19, immediately contact one of the health specialists listed below. Do not go on-campus or to Brown’s routine testing facilities, as you may risk infecting others.

  • For Students: Contact Health Services at 401-863-1330 or [email protected]
  • For Employees: Contact your primary health care provider.

Routine Asymptomatic Testing

Routine asymptomatic testing is optional for fully vaccinated students (undergraduate, graduate and medical) and faculty and staff. All unvaccinated employees and students (those with approved exemptions and those who are in the process of getting vaccinated) are required to test twice per week, or once every four days. If you are a student or employee enrolled in Brown’s testing program and are not experiencing symptoms, you can schedule a test at one of the following routine testing sites through Verily’s web application.

If you have questions on how to schedule a test, please contact Verily User Support at 800-935-6634 or [email protected].

When getting tested, report to the scheduled testing site alone 15 minutes before your appointment and follow Brown’s health protocols by wearing a facial covering, practicing social distancing, and following hygiene guidelines. Bring a Brown Card or a photo ID with your name and date of birth.

All asymptomatic tests will take place at the following locations:

Alumnae Hall, lower level (Pembroke Campus on College Hill), 194 Meeting Street, Providence, RI 02906

Directions: Enter Alumnae Hall at the far side of the building from Meeting Street. From Meeting Street, walk the path to the left of Alumnae Hall and follow the signs to the rear entrance. The check-in stations are immediately inside the door.

One Davol Square in the Jewelry District: 1 Davol Square, Providence, RI 02903

Directions:  Enter One Davol through the atrium on South Street across from the driveway for South Street Landing. Follow the signs to the check-in stations on the first floor.

Important Note for After Thanksgiving Recess:

All undergraduate students (vaccinated or not) are required to test after the Thanksgiving Recess. Undergraduate students returning to campus will be required to test on day 1 and day 5 following their return to campus (for example, Sunday, Nov. 28 and Thursday, Dec. 2 for a student who returns from travel that Sunday). Undergraduate students staying on campus or in their off-campus residence during the break will be required to test twice, five days apart, the week after break as well. All other members of the community who travel away from Providence for the holiday and/or spend time with others they have not been with regularly (extended friends and family, for example) will be strongly encouraged to take advantage of an optional test that week.

The Andrews House testing site will be open Nov. 28 to Dec. 5 to accommodate increased testing volume that week.

Andrews House (across from Keeney Quadrangle, former location of Health Services, on College Hill), 13 Brown Street, Providence, RI 02906

Directions: Andrews House is south of the College Green on Brown Street, across from Keeney Quad. From Brown Street, take the path to the left of Andrews House and follow the signs to the side entrance. You will be directed to a check-in station upon entering the facility. Limited short-term parking while actively being tested is available behind the building (enter from Charlesfield Street) for those who may need to drive to the site. Note that Andrews House is not the same building as Andrews Hall, which is a residence hall, or Andrews Commons, which is a dining facility, both on Pembroke Campus.
