Brown has developed a public health plan to make it possible for the University to resume on-campus operations in the fall with the confidence that the health of students and employees will be protected to the best extent practicable. Elements of the plan are based on the guidance of medical experts and public health protocols for managing infectious diseases of pandemic proportions.
In the fall term in particular, the reduced density of the student population on campus will necessarily reduce the number of potential individual contacts. Identified pods in the residence halls, limitations and public health restrictions governing social functions and events, online large classes, the public health education campaign, and other measures will further contribute to limiting the number of contacts per individual.
