Health Protocols

Brown's health measures, policies and interventions are based on expert public health guidance to prevent and mitigate the spread of novel coronavirus on campus.

Brown has developed and implemented a public health plan to make it possible for the University to conduct on-campus operations in the 2020-21 academic year with the confidence that the health of students and employees will be protected to the best extent practicable. Elements of the University's plan are based on the guidance of medical experts and public health protocols for managing infectious diseases of pandemic proportions.

During each of the year's three academic terms, the reduced density of the student population on campus will necessarily reduce the number of potential individual contacts. Identified pods in the residence halls, limitations and public health restrictions governing social functions and events, online large classes, a public health education campaign, and other measures are further contributing to limiting the number of contacts per individual.
